Cap’s Story

All of us at Associated Humane Societies are honored to be able to protect another working K-9, Cap.  Cap, a two year old Belgian Malinois, is a recent graduate of the K9 program for the Middletown Police department.  Cap will be partnered with Middletown Patrolman Steve Greenwood, and we are thrilled to be able to provide Cap with a bullet-proof vest donated through our Vested Interest Fund program. 

Our Vested Interest Fund was established in June, 1998, in honor of a working K-9 named Solo.  Solo was a three year old German Shepherd that had an exceptional record of locating many missing persons and apprehending several criminal suspects.  Sadly, he was shot and killed in the line of duty in Asbury Park, NJ.  We established our Fund and vowed to protect as many working K-9s as we possibly could with the help of donors who support this Fund.  Since 1998, AHS has vested over 1000 working K-9s!  Click here to make a donation to our Vested Interest Fund.
