Found as a stray in Newark with two broken legs, Pepper’s recovery begins at AHS

On a cold and wet January night, Pepper was found on a street in Newark injured and afraid. This adorable Schnauzer was left in the street after a hit and run accident left her with two dislocated hips, two broken hind legs and many abrasions covering her body. Pepper was rushed to an emergency vet, where she was given immediate medical attention to assess her multiple injuries. Because of our ResqFund specifically set up for animals in need of medical attention, Pepper spent almost two weeks in the care of our emergency veterinary partners.
Pepper is finally on the mend and healing more and more each day. We’re seeking a foster family so Pepper can continue to rest and recover as she searches for her forever home. Pepper would do best in an adult only home and as the only pet in her foster home as she heals.
If you’re interested in fostering, please contact slaraway@ahsppz.org to inquire. If you can’t foster, please consider making a donation to to our ResQFund on behalf of Pepper and the many others like her that come to AHS for help every day.

Please consider making a donation towards Pepper’s care. All donations to our ResQ Fund go towards supporting the countless animals that come through our doors in need of medical attention, just like Pepper. Your support not only means the world to us, but to them. All proceeds go directly towards the animals in our care.
