Senior Dog Fluffy Deserves a Peaceful Place to Call Home

October 9, 2024

Our perfect little gentleman Fluffy is here to ask for your help.  He’s just sitting here, whiling away the days, when he could be resting comfortably in YOUR fabulous foster home!

Fluffy is about 13 years old.  He was surrendered to our Newark shelter due to his owner becoming ill and being unable to care for Fluffy any longer.  The family tried to keep him but they really did want a better life for him.

We do too!

Fluffy was more matted than he was fluffy when he arrived, but a well-deserved spa day took care of that and had him feeling like a puppy again. Fluffy was transferred to AHS Forked River where we’ve fallen in love with this sweet ol’ grandpa!

Age hasn’t been terribly kind to Fluffy.  His eyes are a little cloudy, he’s somewhat hearing-impaired, and his little joints pop out in odd directions.  He’s also sprouted a couple of old man lumps and such too, but you don’t think Fluffy’s going to let any of that slow him down, do you?

Fluffy can keep up with the best of them out on a walk and let’s out a small woof or two when he sees a treat coming his way!

Unfortunately, Fluffy has come down with an upper respiratory infection which is easy enough to treat, but at Fluffy’s age, it’s best if he recover in a comfy home instead of in a shelter setting.  Can you help?  Fluffy is just about the easiest little guy.  You won’t even know he’s there!  Fluffy is puppy pad-trained, he’s mild-mannered and so friendly and easy going.  He grew up with dogs, cats, kids, you name it, and he’s great with them all!  Fluffy is contagious right now so if you foster Fluffy and have other dogs, they will need to be up to date on the bordatella vaccine.

Fluffy would be overjoyed to bunk with you during his treatment, or even join your family forever!  Either way, if you’re interested in meeting him, please contact us at (609) 693 – 1900 or email office@ahsppz.org for more info.

Please also consider making a donation on behalf of Fluffy and the many others like him that come to us every day in need of a helping paw!
