Bruno the Bait Dog’s Recovery at AHS
It’s always so sad to see a dog that has suffered neglect and abuse, but when the dog has special needs, it’s especially heartbreaking. Bruno broke every heart when he arrived at AHS Newark in early June, after an Irvington resident found him roaming the streets injured, bleeding, and stumbling. We can’t imagine what terrible ordeal that poor dog had suffered.
Bruno was overjoyed to be in good hands when he arrived in the AHS medical department and they immediately began treating his many punctures, lacerations and wounds. He was severely dehydrated, malnourished, he had severely infected ears and a number of other medical maladies. Bruno eagerly ate and drank all that was offered to him and was so grateful to rest on soft blankets, and finally be in good hands.
Bruno is about 4 1/2 years old and he’s the sweetest, most lovable lug of a dog. He’s a big boy of about 75 lbs. that pulls quite a bit on the leash, but he does well with a harness. Bruno loves absolutely everyone he meets and despite his past, he even likes other dogs. He’s well-behaved and he’s so happy to chase after every ball you’ll throw for him! He’d love an easy-to-navigate home. He’ll bring so much joy to a good family that welcomes him home. Please email: office@ahsppz.org for an application for Bruno.
If you can’t adopt him, please consider donating on behalf of Bruno and the many other pets in need that come to AHS every day for a second chance
