AHS Becomes Ambassador for Greater Good Charities

A Greater Good for our Community

AHS is proud to become an Ambassador for Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program to support people and pets in the Newark area. The GOODS Program distributes food, essential supplies, clothing, housewares, toys, and more to pets and people in need across the world.

The GOODS team sources food and supplies from donors including manufacturers, distributors, and retailers before sending these products to Ambassadors, like AHS, for distribution in the community. Recipients of the GOODS Program include pets (homeless and owned), families facing economic hardships, unhoused populations,
military veterans, domestic violence survivors, victims of disasters, and displaced persons (DPs) or internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities, we were able to distribute over 75,000 pounds of pet food over the past year both directly and through local human food banks, allowing us to help pet parents struggling to choose between feeding their pets or feeding themselves.

It is our goal to keep pets and families together whenever possible. Our hope is that through partnership with Greater Good Charities, we can provide the resources needed to allow pets to stay with their families, lessening the amount of animals surrendered to the shelter.

For more information on the GOODS Program or our surrender prevention resources, please contact us at info@ahsppz.org.
