Animal Control Services

The Society provides Animal Control Services to towns throughout the state of New Jersey as well as county parks, certain highways and other areas by contract with state, county or local municipalities.  These services include pick-up and/or rescue of owned, abandoned, trapped or sick domestic animals and wildlife, sheltering and/or disposition of animals, etc.  Contractual arrangements are made between the Society and these agencies for one year periods to provide the best possible care for these animals, and to provide the best opportunities for adoption through our three shelters for adoptable pets, or the return of lost pets to their owners.  It is commonly thought that Animal Control Services only includes the handling of cats and dogs, but it also includes the rescue and release of wildlife that has gotten itself trapped in dangerous situations as pictured here.
