AHS Represents at the Newark Juneteenth Festival

June 19, 2024

Staff from Associated Humane Societies enjoyed engaging with members of our Newark community on Saturday, June 15 at the Newark Juneteenth Festival

It was great to meet local officials and Newark residents at this wonderful “unity in the community event,” where we discussed our charitable work to help animals and those who care for them throughout the city.

We shared important information about the importance of spaying and neutering animals and our other work to bring progressive animal welfare initiatives in Newark and throughout the state of New Jersey. We gave gifts to the children, which included a book with stories about kindness towards animals and AHS themed sunglasses, while helping connect pet parents with available resources.

As a special treat, a special dog named Lily, who we featured on our recent appearance with Good Morning America, visited our table with her new adoptive mom!

Check out our Newark shelter on social media to support our mission to serve our local communities!
