A Lemonade Stand to Help Animals…

All of us at Associated Humane Societies want to send out our thanks and appreciation to one of the smallest of Humane Heroes, Miles.  This 7 year old friend to animals set up a lemonade stand to raise money for the animals at our Newark facility!  Miles, along with his mom, Sara, also collected tons of linens from members of their community and packed the car full to bring to AHS Newark.  Thank you so much, and keep up the good work!

Painting pet portraits to promote adoptions!

What a great job by junior Humane Heroes, Fisher, Jack, and Sam Ventriello!  These young boys have loved AHS/Popcorn Park since their first visit here and love the animals that we care for.  In addition to asking for donations for our animals in lieu of gifts for their birthdays, they wanted to do a special project to help promote adoptions.  The boys obtained photos of some of our longtime residents:  Zeus, Beay, and Rocky, and painted their portraits.  What a great job they did too!  We’re happy to say that Rocky has been adopted!  Zeus (pictured here with the boys) and Beay are still waiting, and we want to thank the boys for spreading the word for them, and to adopt a shelter pet!
